Synopsis
Love can be a crime.
Reuben has returned to his hometown in order to care for his dying mother. A detective named Selena is investigating a string of jogging path murders. Reuben inadvertently becomes a suspect, who is cautiously cleared. Selena finds herself attracted to him.
The two have much in common. A romance blossoms, while the murders continue, and the case becomes more and more complicated. All the while, Reuben is trying to find out about his father, which is a topic his mother constantly ignores and avoids.
While Reuben searches for his own answers, Selena is searching for herself as well. She left the big city to take a detective position in the small town. Selena wants answers, although she might not be asking the right questions.
Selena has a bad dating history, with baggage to match, and thinks she has found her match in Reuben. However, Reuben keeps popping in and out of the investigation, which clouds Selena’s mind.
