Synopsis

How many people do you have to kill to win an election?

Lt. Col. Dave Johnson and his secretive team of Army special operatives uncover a ruthless terrorist, Omar Rajai, who has flagrantly executed a bloody attack at an American Embassy in the Middle East. Not content with publicly shaming the President in almost real time, as well as almost killing Dave, Omar soon threatens an even bloodier swath of death and destruction unless America leaves the Middle East.

Omar is the most wanted terrorist in the world, and the President orders Dave to bring him to justice by whatever means are necessary. What no one anticipates is that Omar isn’t waiting for them to come to him—he’s coming to them.

At the same time, America is in the midst of a hotly-contested Presidential election, and Omar’s first target is the Republican nominee. Omar holds him personally responsible for the death of his own family in Syria. Adding to the chaos is the surprising success by the Green Party in winning the votes of two States, which leaves none of the candidates with the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the Presidency. What Dave and his team don’t yet know is that when the Republican nominee escapes Omar’s grasp, Omar will now turn his murderous attention on the members of the Electoral College before they can vote.

The murders are first staged as accidents, intending to unnerve the other Electors. Dave unravels details of Omar’s plan, but not soon enough to prevent an attack on the Federal Courthouse where the remaining Electors are in protective custody. Dave finds himself as the sole protector for two of the surviving Electors, and he’s now convinced a conspiracy exists within the very Government that’s sworn to protect them. They’re on the run, unable and unwilling to trust anyone, while freedom and America’s political future teeters in the balance.
