Manners Matter is a different kind of talk show. The 30-minute series, will be hosted by Donald G. James, author of the best selling Manners Will Take You Where Brains and Money Won’t: Wisdom from Momma and 35 Years at NASA.
Each episode will feature Donald talking to some of the most empathetic and influential people in public life—actors, musicians, politicians, sports figures, CEOs, and other celebrities and VIPs. These newsmakers and society fashioners will talk about how the true definition of manners is the authentic and genuine way we show up in the world. Donald will tie in inspiring and thought-provoking stories from his 35 years in public affairs and education at NASA and guided by the lessons his mother taught him. Finally, he will explain how good manners are crucial to finding purpose, fulfillment, and meaning in business and life.
Included in the half-hour program will be ordinary folks asking for advice related to their personal experiences. Manners Matter represents a call to dignity and etiquette at a time in our history when those qualities matter more than ever. This show will resonate with recent graduates, young professionals, mentors, human resource managers, and anyone who wants to build fulfilling and meaningful relationships at work and elsewhere.
Another component of the show will be “on-the-street interviews” by comedians/actors Jeff Applebaum and Rachael Berman. Both are seasoned stand-up artists with quick wits and can bring out the best in people they approach in public to talk about subjects related to Manners Matter. Donald will remotely connect with Jeff and Rachael from the studio as they report in from various locations.
