Riveting River is proud to be working with Altered.LA, a well-respected independent studio in Los Angeles, California. They help companies connect with major Hollywood studios to get projects “green-lighted” for production. For creative minds looking to expand beyond the traditional, Altered.LA offers an alternative philosophy that values the multi-disciplinary approach. They create visual experiences across all platforms and mediums, which elevate the human spirit, enlighten, innovate, and further our culture and artistic expressions. The founders of Altered.LA, Jorge Garcia and Marcos Cline, have been open and friendly as they work with Riveting River to get our projects on the air or streaming.

Jorge Castro studied in Monterey, Mexico. Then he worked a few years, applied to Harvard, and got in. “I got my Master’s degree there but not in entertainment,” he says. “I got my degree in Finance and Strategy. I started working as a consultant for entertainment companies. One of my clients was Disney, and this led me to move to Disney full time, overseeing Spanish language productions for them. Then I worked as a consultant on bigger budget films like Pirates of the Caribbean and Alice in Wonderland. It was a great learning experience and gave me a lot of exposure for what I am doing now.” After five years with Disney, he left in early 2012 to start Altered.LA, which deals primarily with commercial productions, but also has strong ties to Universal and Netflix. Jorge notes, “I focus on two major responsibilities; the first one is to develop and produce the film and TV projects from the directors that we represent. Help them get their passion projects made. The second is to find, develop, acquire, and produce commercial films that can travel universally.

Marcos Cline is always managing teams of creative folks and not-so-creative folks. Among his professional achievements is to have successfully produced feature films, hundreds of commercials, hours of TV content for major networks, as well as creating apps for Android and iOS. Marcos is the first to tell you, “I’m happily married, truly enjoy spending time with my son, and recently completed an Ironman 70.3. Adjectives others have used to describe me include hardworking, diplomatic, creative, responsible. That… and jackass. Someone once told me I’m ‘too social on social media.’ So, if you care to know more about me, check out my social media feeds.” He is a self-motivated worker who thrives in an environment that relies on self-discipline and the ability to meet daily and long-term goals. A natural communicator, Marcos is comfortable leading and executing initiatives. His talent to simultaneously be creative and produce comes from a happy, fearless, and energetic work ethic.
